To start sending emails, there are two mandatory settings in Flowmailer: Adding & authenticating domains and adding sources to your account. Sources are the business systems* allowed to send emails on your behalf and therefore need to be connected to Flowmailer. There are six ways to connect a source to Flowmailer:
- SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol);
- SMTP Header Auth;
- API (Application Programming Interface);
- SMPP (Short Message Peer-to-Peer);
- Inbox;
- Inbox Domain.
Adding sources to your Flowmailer account
Every source has its own requirements, so please follow the instructions in the setup screen carefully. Also, be mindful that the passwords generated for the sources are unique and should not be shared with anyone else. Save your source credentials to somewhere safe: they will not be accessible after saving the source.
* What are source systems?
A source system refers to the system or application that sends an email. It can be an email client, a customer relationship management (CRM) system, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, or any other software that has the capability to send emails. The source system is responsible for creating and formatting the email message and for sending it to the recipient's email server.
